MAMBO project partners from INRIA and CIRAD, Alexis Joly and Pierre Bonnet, took part in a workshop by the Joint Research Centre in Ispra, Italy. The two-day event addressed vegetation characterisation at the European scale, with a focus on identifying tree species outside forests. 

The workshop followed discussions on image analysis of the Lucas dataset, in which participants tried to identify tree species using the tiling approach. It also contributed to the ongoing development of GeoPl@ntNet. 

At the workshop, which brought together around 40 people, Pierre and Alexis presented GeoPl@ntNet and their work on multi-species image analysis.
